TK note #6: 100 K, no HR in a season
Posted by Andy on March 24, 2008
Kurkjian noted that in 1991, Manny Lee became the first player to strike out 100 times in a season without hitting a single homer. Nobody has done it since.
Here are the top strikeout totals with no homers:

In the field Manny was a league average shortstop and didn't steal any bases. All of these guys were base stealers except for Steve Jeltz, Tim Johnson, and Don Kessinger. Kessinger was at least a good fielder.
It's a little odd to see Nook Logan of "The Mitchell Report" make an appearance here. He ought to sue whoever provided him steroids/HGH for fraud.

I never knew the difference between Manny Lee and Nelson Liriano. Now I guess I know one difference (until I forget).
