Some notes:

This season just may be the worst "homerun" start for Rodriguez in his career. (You have to discount 2009 here because he missed most of the team's first 30 games when he was rehabbing his hip.)

While 2007, A-Rod's "opt-out" season, is the high mark here - with 14 homers in 30 games to start the season, half of the time, Alex is good for 10 big flys to start the season. (If you kick out 2009 and 2010 here, that leaves 12 seasons on the chart - and in 6 of those 12 seasons he had 10+ HR within the team's first 30 games. And, he just missed by one HR in 2000 to make this 7 of 12 times.)

A-Rod's "pace" this year is much closer to his rate in 1996 and 2008 - where he hit 36 and 35 homers, overall, respectively. And, if Rodriquez "only" hits 35 homeruns this season, that won't be terrible - most batters would be happy with that mark.

Really. And here I thought he would age like a fit, professional athlete.

If he hits 14 HRs this year, they'll run him out of town in New York! 😉
