Last Champion Standing

Posted by Raphy on February 17, 2010

In 1992 the Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series. During that season,  a 22 year kid with fifteen major league games under his belt  made 2 insignificant August appearances  for the Jays. Insignificant then, but highly significant now. Today, only David Weathers remains as the last active player to play on a World Series winning team from 1992 or earlier.

Using the PI Batting finder (by selecting active and limiting our search to the year and team that won the World Series) we can find the remaining active players from the World Series teams of the '90s. I'm going to post the PI results one at a time and we can decide which of the players listed is actually still active.

I think that Alou is retired. The others seem to all be hanging on.
