3 Consecutive One-Run Victories in the Postseason

The Rangers 3-2 victory over the Tigers last night was the third consecutive game which they won by a single run. Here are the teams that have won at least 3 consecutive one-run games in the post season.

Even within a single post-season the record still belongs to the 1915 Red Sox. That year the Sox lost the first game of the World Series to the Phillies 3-1 and then proceeded to win the next four games 2-1,2-1,2-1 and 5-4. In three of those games the winning run scored in the ninth inning.
Texas has also won 4 consecutive games by 2 runs or less. Here are the longest such postseason streaks:

Those teams most have had some great pitching because the hitting stats (excepting '03 Fla and '81 LA) are pretty bad. And check out that line for '74 Oakland: .129 BA, .275 OBP and .224 SLG. Ouch!
