Dapper Dude Making The Most Of It

Posted by Steve Lombardi on February 7, 2009

Via Baseball-Reference.com's Play Index Batting Season Finder, here are the RBI leaders among players who had 20 or less big  league PA in their career:

Cnt Player RBI PA From To Ages
+----+-----------------+----+-----+----+----+-----+
    1 Cliff Dapper 9 19 1942 1942 22-22
    2 Ed Sanicki 8 20 1949 1951 25-27
    3 Ryan Jorgensen 6 20 2005 2008 26-29
    4 Stan Wentzel 6 19 1945 1945 28-28
    5 Felix Hernandez 5 11 2005 2008 19-22
    6 Jonathan Van Ever 5 18 2008 2008 28-28
    7 Keith McDonald 5 11 2000 2001 27-28
    8 Connie Grob 5 20 1956 1956 23-23
    9 Al Epperly 5 10 1938 1950 20-32
   10 Chris Hartje 5 17 1939 1939 24-24
   11 Mahlon Higbee 5 11 1922 1922 20-20

Now Ryan Jorgensen, King Felix and maybe Jonathan Van Ever will someday exceed the 20 PA mark and get  chopped off this list.  But, how about Cliff Dapper?  Is this one of those major league records that will never be broken? 😉  For more great stuff on Dapper, via Baseball-Reference.com, click here.

That biography is a little over the top.
