Keeping Score: Lees Value to Phillies Can Be Measured in Zeros - NYTimes.com.
My latest in the Times. My favorite snip from the article is that Cliff Lee has 20% of all shutouts in the National League. This is the highest percentage since Ed Morris of the 1886 AA Pittsburgh Alleghenys.

Here is the audio of the discussion with John Martz (sic) and Sal Palantonio (sic). I tried to make some headway, but I don't think I made any converts. The caller after me couldn't believe they were giving a platform for a heretic like myself.
For the record, the Phillies are great this year because of Halladay, Hamels, Lee, Victorino, Utley, Rollins, Howard and Ruiz (in about that order), not because Howard has a lot of RBI's.

Sal Palantonio hosting on 97.5 the Fanatic has been roasting my Times article today and invited me to get ripped to shreds on the air. Being brain dead, I took him up on his offer. I'll be on at 4:30 today. My humble goal is one coherent point.

And the idea is taking hold elsewhere: The Wharton School at UPenn is holding its first annual Sports Innovation Conference in April. Among the guests: Caps/Wiz owner Ted Leonsis, former Hawks and Braves president Stan Kasten, and Baseball-Reference founder Sean Forman. In other words, it's the Sloan JV team.

I just wanted to say how flattered I am that Deadspin saw fit to lump me in with Stan Kasten and Ted Leonsis as the Sloan JV team. I've been working out daily and hope to get the call to varsity sometime in the not too distant future. Info on the Wharton conference is here: http://www.whartonsportsconference.com/

Wharton Sports Innovation Conference
I'll be on a panel on Innovations in Analytics at the first Wharton Sports Innovation Conference. They have a pretty nice lineup of sports business professionals, Chuck Greenberg, Stan Kasten, and Ted Leonsis are set to speak. If you think the Sloan Conference this weekend looks interesting this might be up your alley.

Prime 9 | MLB Network: Show Lineup.
I'll be appearing this offseason in a variety of new episodes for the MLB Network's Prime 9. We taped over the summer, and if there is an opinion to be given on a player that no one living has ever seen play, I was there to give it. 🙂
I'm not in every episode, but taped bits for 8 or so episodes. Enjoy.

7:00 p.m. Behind The Seams "The Pitching Paradigm" - Documentary about the evolution of pitching
Set your TiVo's. I will be appearing (along with many, many others) in a doc on pitching changes over time.
I've also taped quite a few bits for the MLB Network's Prime 9 series which I believe will begin to air this offseason.
