Database Update, Monday AM
Posted by Sean Forman on July 12, 2010
We are updating our database at the moment, so 2010 data may not be available in the splits, gamelogs and play index for a few hours this morning. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it will be worth it.

I know what's coming and all I can say is Elias won't be happy.

Okay, Andy; I don't. Please fill me in on why Elias won't be happy; and please explain it in terms that this dinosaur can comprehend.

There's more data on its way. I'm sure Sean will be posting about it so I won't steal his thunder.

Oh, great, now I'm not going to be able to work for the rest of the day wondering about this.

Hi Andy & Sean,
If it possible to place in Season Finder (Pitchers & Batters) an option to search stats before and after All Star Game?. For example, batting leaders before All Star Break.

Well I can now look through ALL of Ted Williams' game logs so it looks like 1940-1951 have been filled in.
July 12th, 2010 at 3:45 pm
I was wondering if it will be any of the Negro or Cuban League stats from Scott Simkus.

Fielding totals for the era still not in there. 🙁 Also, looking at Williams's stats, a lot of the breakdowns still aren't fully populated yet (I checked by position, and it stops at 1951).

I guess it isn't fully complete yet since the top dogs have not written about it!

Charles,
The fielding data is now updated back to 1950. Let me know if you find other gaps.

Sean: Back to 1920? There are daily logs for those years on Retrosheet, which is why I mention it.
