You know, as bad as Craig Robinson was at the plate in 1973, at the end of the season he was traded to the Braves (with Barry Lersch) for Ron Schueler. And, he was the Braves starting shortstop in 1974.

Dig # 21 on the list. Is that one of the all-time great baseball names that hardly anyone knows? Putsy Caballero! By the way, he was the youngest player to ever appear in a game for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Lastly, if you don't get the title of this one, click here.

  1. TheGoof Says:

Glenallen Hill must have looked awful at the plate that year. How does a guy coming off a 27-homer season not draw a walk in 66 plate appearances? At least one guy would pitch him carefully, right?

  2. Chipmaker Says:

Well, sure, the balrog doesn't pass. The guy's bigger than Billy Ashley -- even Steve Blass could nail that strike zone.

  3. Kahuna Tuna Says:

I wonder if this guy ever got called "BAlRog."

  4. Whiz Says:

The most PA in a season for a player with OBP < BA is 131 (Ernie Bowman, 1963 -- 2 SF with no BB).
