CGs by HOF pitchers and current candidates

Thanks to a recently-added feature to the PI, we can do searches for players in the HOF, plus those currently on the ballot. Here is a very simply search of all 85 pitchers either currently in the HOF or on the ballot, ranked by Complete Games.

Look at my man Bert Blyleven, all the way up thereĀ at 29th, ahead of a lot of other great pitchers. And just how impressive is Dennis Eckersely? Perhaps the best reliever in baseball from 1988 through 1992, sometimes we forget that he had a great career as a starter in a previous life.

I'm sorry this post does not have to do with this topic, but I don't know where else to post it. I love this blog, and I was wondering if you could please post the team with the longest winning streak that finished below .500, and the longest losing streak for a team that finished above .500. Thanks!

Okay, thank you!

Is there any reason you only started the list in 1901? You should note this list is missing a lot of 19th Century HOF CG.

[...] Cool stat: I’ve written tons about Blyleven over at the Stat of the Day blog. Check it out here, here, here, here, and here. [...]
