IBB>UBB

Posted by Raphy on November 26, 2009

Stores across the US are gearing up to begin selling gifts staring this evening.  Here are some prolific gift receivers, players (since 1955 when IBB became a stat) who were walked more intentionally then unintentionally. Only players with at least 15 walks are included.

A lot of #8 hitters here to be sure, but there are others mixed in. Even Gary Templeton spent a good part of 1986 in other spots in the line-up.

  1. Rich Says:

Studies may show that lineup construction doesn't matter, but at least in 2004, Bonds was the exception to that general rule.

  2. gerry Says:

To make this list, you need an OBP of less than .370 - or more than .600!

  3. DoubleDiamond Says:

Even the nine pre-1973 occurrences were all in the National League. A lot for 2nd-half-of-1960s and 1st-half-of-1970s Pirates.
