Here are the worst OBP values for players qualifying for the batting title in 2009:

Two of only five guys under .300 are on playoff teams. It's more embarrassing for the Phillies, though, whose leadoff guy (Rollins) is up there. At least Barmes batted primarily 8th for the Rockies (with some 2nd and 7th thrown in.)
Also when did Rios start going by Alexis instead of Alex? That's news to me.

Rios hasn't started going by Alexis, he stopped going by Alexis once he was confident enough to tell people he preferred Alex.

I was surprised to see Jimmy Rollins.

I wonder how many players have scored 100 runs with an OBP below .300. Can't be many.

In addition to Rollins this year, Tony Armas in 1984 and Hughie Critz in 1930 have had an OBP of .300 at most and also scored 100+ runs.

Hughie Critz is a cool find. Picked up by the Giants a month into the season -- presumably for his glove. John McGraw bats him leadoff every day for the rest of the year. The *team* batting line that year was .319/.369/.473 so he ended up scoring most of the time he actually reached base.
