Davis, Armas & Kong

The Rangers Chris Davis is heading into the week before the All-Star break with 15 homers and an OBA of .256 (in 277 PA).
So, in the history of baseball, has anyone ever had a 30+ homerun season with an OBA less than .260? Thanks to Baseball-Reference.com's Play Index Batting Season Finder, we know the answer:

If Davis does it make - and this assumes he doesn't lose his job, get injuried, or improve his production - then he will be the first left-handed batter in baseball history to turn this trick. Ouch.

I think Davis was just demoted.

You are correct JohnnyTwisto!
It just happened last night - I missed that.
Good catch.
Mea culpa.

He may be back up sooner rather than later (the Rangers still see him as their first baseman of the future), so he may still have a chance!
