Posted by Raphy on April 6, 2009

I was playing around with Baseball Oracle and I found that Lyn Larry played with 23 Hall of Famers.  Can you find someone with more?

Tied it with Deacon McGuire. Couldn't beat it.

  2. Redsauce Says:

    Oops--Deacon only has 22, sorry.

  3. BoondockSaint Says:

Don Larsen player with 23 HOFers in his career.

  4. Markmsb Says:

I just found that Rogers Hornsby played with 25 Hall of Famers! wow

  5. Piehead Says:

    Bobo Newsom played with 32.

  6. Piehead Says:

Jack Quinn's not too far off with 29.

  7. Andy Says:

Earlier today Raphy and I were chatting about this and I checked out Mike Morgan. Ten of his teammates are already in the HOF and I found another 11 with at least a decent shot at the HOF...still falls short though.

  8. BoondockSaint Says:

I think I found the jackpot. Waite Hoyt played with 36 HOFers in his 21 year career.

  9. Raphy Says:

    Burleigh Grimes also had 36.

  10. Piehead Says:

Burleigh Grimes and Joe Bush tie Hoyt with 36.

David Vincent looked into this on the SABR mailing list in October, 2001. He found, as Piehead did, Bush, Grimes, and Hoyt tied at 36, Doc Farrell at 35.

Which Joe Bush would that be?
The only two listed on this site are not listed as a HOF members.

  13. Raphy Says:

We weren't looking for HOF members, just people who played with them.
