Yorktown is located in southeastern Virginia, at the mouth of the York River as it empties into Chesapeake Bay, 5 miles north of Newport News, VA. The last major battle of the Revolutionary War was fought here in 1781, and the city is the site of a major United States Navy station as well as a Coast Guard facility. Tabb High School is here.
