Biographical Information

"Many fans think Raub, had he been given the chance to catch 50 games, would have shown himself a star, but Kling was there with the goods too strongly to be benched and the big fellow refused to get hurt all season." - from the Sporting Life issue of April 2, 1904

Tommy Raub played in the majors in 1903 and 1906. In 1903 he backed up Johnny Kling on the 1903 Cubs while in 1906 he was one of several players who backed up Mike Grady on the 1906 Cardinals.

The book Johnny Kling: A Baseball Biogaphy states that on September 26, 1903, Boston stole seven bases off of Raub.

Raub hit well in 1906, batting .282 on a team which hit .235.

Raub was born in Raubsville, PA and was past 30 when he came to the majors. Outside of the majors, he played at least five seasons for Montreal.
