Talk:Minor League Player of the Year
Should the two awards be split into two pages? --MichaelEng 23:33, 22 August 2006 (EDT)
Given that people will probably keep linking to this page, I think it might be better to leave it as is. - --Mischa 08:55, 23 August 2006 (EDT)
I think this, and the other pages like it, should be left as is. The only reason to split them up, IMO, would be if they got too big and cumbersome. Otherwise, they're closely enough related that they belong together. -Chisoxfan 11:58, 23 August 2006 (EDT)
Did the TSN award end? - --Mischa 21:29, 8 September 2008 (EDT)
As far as I know, it did. In 2006, I searched the Sporting News website extensively, and tried various search combinations through google regarding the award, and could find nothing. I guess its demise is part of the Sporting News recent transformation away from "the Bible of Baseball" and its discontinuation of traditional reference sources such as the annual Baseball Guides and Registers. Obviously, there was no formal annoucement. --Philippe 22:30, 8 September 2008 (EDT)
According to this [1] Jay Bruce won the SN Award in 2007, havent found any other years yet. --Biggtone23 20:40, 22 March 2009 (EDT)
Like the other Sporting News award, this one has been completely eclipsed by the later creation. I would suggest stopping to list the award after 2005, when they stopped publishing the annual Baseball Guide. The award, if it persists, is now simply a curiosity with no influence. --Philippe 20:49, 22 March 2009 (EDT)
