Biographical Information[edit]
Takanori Hoshi has been a catcher in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Hoshi was a 6th-round pick of the Yomiuri Giants in the 2004 NPB draft. He made his debut on October 4, 2005. The next day, he singled off John Bale for his first hit; he was 1 for 3 on the year. He was 1 for 5 with a double in 2006, spent the next two years entirely in the minors and was 0 for 5 in 2009. He spent 2010 in the minors as well. During these years, Shinnosuke Abe was the starting catcher for the Giants. Hoshi's grandparents were killed in the tsunami that struck Natori, Miyagi on March 11, 2011; both were found dead within the next ten days.
