Biographical Information[edit]
Shin Hashido was active in Japanese baseball in several roles. He was a star pitcher-shortstop in college in the early 1900s. After living in the USA for four years, he returned to Japan as a newspaper write. He helped manage the summer Koshien and also helped found the Inter-city baseball tournament; the tournament MVP award would later be named in his honor. He was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in the initial class of 1959.
