Biographical Information[edit]
Rodney Rodriguez has pitched in the Italian Baseball League. He debuted in 2010 with the Godo Knights, going 2-8 with a 2.99 ERA and 95 strikeouts in 81 1/3 IP. He allowed a .244/.318/.326 batting line but was hampered by poor run support. He tied for the IBL lead in losses but also tied Tiago Da Silva for first in strikeouts. His performance impressed a stronger club, T&A San Marino, which signed him for 2012. In the 2012 European Cup, he was 0-1 with 10 strikeouts and a 4.26 ERA in 6 1/3 IP. He got the start against rival Fortitudo Bologna. He battled Luca Panerati for five shutout innings. He unraveled in the 6th, allowing a Juan Carlos Infante then a RBI double to Gabriele Ermini. Claudio Liverziani grounded out then G.G. Sato was intentionally walked. Yulman Ribeiro was summoned in relief but gave up a 3-run homer to Mark Castellitto as San Marino lost and failed to advance.
