Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Richie Robnett was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Scott Kidd and made his pro debut that summer with the Vancouver Canadians, hitting .299 in 43 games. He spent the next year with the Stockton Ports, with whom he hit .243 with 20 home runs. He spent most of 2006 back with Stockton but also played 5 games each with the AA Midland RockHounds and the AAA Sacramento River Cats. He began 2007 back with Midland, hitting .267 with 18 homers and 74 RBI, and earned a spot on the Texas League All-Star team before being promoted to Sacramento late in the year.
