Puerto Peñasco is a port town about 50 miles southwest of the Arizona border, at the northern end of the Gulf of California. The Puerto Peñasco club played in the 1969 Mexican Northern League and the city has fielded a team in the Liga Norte de Sonora. Ulises Gutierrez died here.
