In 2006, he was less effective with the Danville Braves (1-1, 4.33, 33 H in 24 2/3 IP) and Rome Braves (0-2, 14.14, 2.71 WHIP). He pitched 2/3 of an inning for Nicaragua in the 2007 Pan American Games and got a save. His team won a Bronze Medal but Rayo was stripped of his medal when he tested positive for boldenone, a forbidden steroid. He was back with Nicaragua for a Silver Medal in the 2010 Central American Games. He also pitched in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, relieving Carlos Teller with a 4-0 deficit in the 6th against Panama. He retired Isaias Velasquez, Ruben Tejada and Carlos Ruiz in order before J.C. Ramirez replaced him in the 7th.
