Biographical Information[edit]

Paul Hoenecke was drafted twice. Initially, he was taken by the Detroit Tigers in 2008 (two picks ahead of pitcher Brad Brach) and then he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 24th round of the 2012 amateur draft. The scout was Chet Sergo.

He hit .385/.421/.657 with 23 doubles in 44 games between two low-level teams his first year, but such success evaded him in succeeding seasons. The next year, he batted .220/.288/.349 in 52 games. Though his average was just .247 in 2014, Hoenecke tied Kody Eaves for the the Midwest League lead in doubles with 37 and he slugged 15 home runs. In 2015, he had 33 doubles and 10 home runs.

Hoenecke was a MiLB.com Organization All-Star in 2014 and 2015 and in 2016, he was a Texas League Mid-Season All-Star.
