Biographical Information[edit]

Charles Fuller came to the majors for three games in 1902 with the Brooklyn Superbas, under manager Ned Hanlon. Seven different catchers appeared for the Superbas that year, with Hughie Hearne getting into the most games at catcher, 65.

Fuller also had a decade in minor league and independent ball, including several seasons in Canada with the Montreal Royals and Toronto Maple Leafs.

In 1908, he managed the Meridian Ribboners and also played for them.

"The (Superbas) team has been rather hard up for catchers with Charley Farrell holding a seat on the bench. The situation was rather ticklish with nobody but HUGHEY AHEARN (sic) to do the work, and Fuller was recalled from Montreal, where he had gone with his own consent. He jumped in at once and showed that he had quality . . ." - Sporting Life, July 12, 1902

"His loss was a hard blow . . ." - Sporting Life's Montreal correspondent, writing about the loss to the Montreal team when Fuller was called up to the majors
