Marco Costantini has pitched in Italy for several years. He debuted in Serie A1 in 2002 with Nettuno, going 2-1 with a 4.58 ERA in six games. He returned in '04 and went 2-1 with 7 saves and a 2.87 ERA for Nettuno. He was one save behind league leader Carlos Richetti. In 2005, the 21-year-old went 4-2 with 2 saves and a 3.38 ERA in 18 appearances. During 2006, Marco improved to 6-5, 2.52. He did not pitch for Nettuno in 2007, then was 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA in 2008. He is on Italy's provisional roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
