Luis Enrique González Álamo

Biographical Information

Luis González managed Villa Clara to back-to-back 26-22 seasons in 1988-1989 and 1989-1990. He also coached for Villa Clara at times. He coached for the Cuban national team in the 1988 Baseball World Cup, 1992 Olympics, 1993 Intercontinental Cup, 1994 Baseball World Cup, 1995 Intercontinental Cup, 1996 Olympics, 2001 Baseball World Cup and 2002 Intercontinental Cup. For a brief period in the late 1990s, he was banned by Cuban baseball for suspicions of involvement in defection but he was later reinstated.
