List of baseball players who went directly to the major leagues

From BR Bullpen

A number of baseball players are distinguished by the fact that they made their professional debut in the majors without having played a single game at the minor league level or at the professional level. The following is an attempt at a comprehensive list of those players.

It is worth noting that many of these players, at one time or another, did play in the minor leagues after their major league debut -- some as rehabilitation assignments after injury, others after an outright demotion. This is especially of the numerous players who made this list as a result of the bonus rule in effect in the 1950s and early 1960s; most of these so-called bonus babies were sent down to the minor leagues as soon as their mandatory period on the major league roster ended, and only a minority became successful major leaguers.

This list should include thirteen members of the Baseball Hall of Fame[1], denoted in bold.
