Biographical Information[edit]
Licesio Fernández was a long-time star in Spain. He helped the Picadero Jockey Club Barcelona win the 1963 and 1968 European Cups. When that team folded, he helped found Catalunya and coached them to a title in 1977. In 1987, he coached Viladecans to a Division Honor title. He also played and coached for the Spanish national team in five European Championships. He started in the 1962 European Championship, hitting .636. He was an inaugural inductee into the Spanish Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.
