Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Roberson had a short career as a major league outfielder, appearing in 165 games between 1993, when he made his debut with the Chicago Cubs, and 1996, when he played his final game with the New York Mets. However, in an otherwise non-descript career, he had some stasticical oddities: among all position players with a lifetime batting average under .200, no one hit home runs more frequently (1 every 15.45 AB) or had a higher slugging percentage (.430). He made more efficient use of his hits than anyone else in that group, with 51 RBIs on just 61 hits. That places #2 among the group in OPS, with .706; only Frank Fernandez had a higher OPS, at .744.
