The brother of Biff Pocoroba, Joe Pocoroba played two years in the minor leagues. He was picked by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 17th round of the 1978 amateur draft. He then played for the '78 Lethbridge Dodgers, hitting .257/.319/.346 and fielding .932 at shortstop, better than Steve Sax, another shortstop Lethbridge used. In 1979, he hit .262/.364/.305 for the GCL Braves.
