James J. O'Connor

Jim O'Connor began umpiring in the New York-Penn League in 1971. He then moved to the Florida State League in 1972, the Eastern League also in 1972 and the International League from 1973 to 1975. In 1978 he was a fill-in in the American League when the regular umpires staged a one-day strike, and he was hired again by the AL in 1979 when the regular umpires walked out for a longer period at the start of the year. All 17 of the games he worked were in Baltimore, MD.
