Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Green played ten games at age 30 for the Washington Nationals of the short-lived Union Association in 1884, but his baseball career was far longer than that. His early years are not well-known, but he seems to have played with the Akrons in parts of 1879-1881 and for Dayton in 1883. He played in the minors through at least 1890, and may have also been a minor league umpire. He managed in the minors for part of 1888. After baseball, he apparently worked for a while as a tailor and then in shipping for a paste company.
