Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Battle had an excellent cup of coffee with the 1927 Chicago White Sox, hitting .375 and slugging .625. In the field, he made no errors at either third base or shortstop. He had little chance of dislodging Willie Kamm from the hot corner, and while the White Sox tried a variety of players at shortstop in 1927, in 1928 they chose a rookie, Bill Cissell, for the position.
