Jeffrey de Vrieze played two seasons in the minors and then returned to the Netherlands.

De Vrieze was 6 for 32 with a walk, 17 strikeouts and 2 doubles for the 2004 GCL Marlins and allowed 13 steals in 14 tries as a catcher. Jeffrey was not the only Dutch player on the squad; one of the pitchers he likely worked with was Kenny Berkenbosch. In 2005, Jeff fell to .179/.243/.269 with 30 strikeouts in 67 AB to end his minor league career.

De Vrieze was little better in the Netherlands upon his return home. In 2006, he was 5 for 33 with 11 strikeouts for the Almere club, fielding only .915 at catcher. During the 2007 Hoofdklasse season, he hit .119/.230/.119 with 14 strikeouts in 42 AB. He had six passed balls in 13 games.

Jeff moved to the Konica Minolta Pioniers for 2008 and batted .278/.387/.411 as a fairly productive designated hitter. He slumped to .221/.303/.302 in 2009 while reprising his DH role, playing five games at first base and none at catcher. He was 0 for 6 in the first round of the playoffs but his bat came alive in the 2009 Holland Series, when he went 3 for 10 in a losing cause against Neptunus.
