Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder J. C. Snead played in the Washington Senators system from 1961 to 1963, hitting .285 with 22 home runs in 247 games. In 1961, he hit .268 with 2 home runs in 35 games for the Middlesboro Senators. The following year, he hit .311/.458/.469 with 27 stolen bases, 9 home runs and 55 RBI in 104 games split between the Statesville Owls and Raleigh Capitals. He hit .267 with 11 home runs in 108 games for the Geneva Senators in 1963.

Following his baseball career, he became a professional golfer, joining the Professional Golfers' Association in 1968. He has 15 professional victories. His uncle was legendary golfer Sam, "Slammin' Sammy" Snead.
