J.P. Pyne

J.P. Pyne has coached in both college and the minor leagues.

Pyne set St. Joseph's College records for saves (24) and appearances (76) in a career. He was pitching coach for the Milford, MA American Legion club that went to the 2001 American Legion World Series. He coached in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in 2002-2003, working with Andy LaRoche, Bryan LaHair and Kevin Melillo. J.P. was pitching coach at Saint Anselm College from 2002-2004 and head coach in 2005-2006, then returned to St. Joseph's as pitching coach in 2007.

Pyne became head coach of Daniel Webster College in 2008; he also was a coach for the Nashua Pride that year. In 2009, he was named New England Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year. After the season ended, he was pitching coach for the American Defenders of New Hampshire. He took Daniel Webster College to their first NECC title in 2010, set a school record for wins (21-17) and was named NECC Coach of the Year. He again got a summer job, this time as bullpen coach for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, where he worked with Kyle Drabek. He coached at Daniel Webster for six seasons.

In 2014, he took an job as assistant coach at the University of Maine. He stayed for two seasons. In July 2015, he took over as head coach at Clark University. He moved on to Amherst College in 2019.
