Utility player J.P. Postiff was taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 33rd round of the 1990 amateur draft, a few picks after pitcher Jim Dedrick, and began his professional career that year. He played until 1993, hitting .232/.356/.300 with 6 home runs, 78 RBI, 25 stolen bases and 114 walks in 277 games over 4 seasons. He peaked at High-A.
