Biographical Information[edit]

Ioannis Apostolopoulos has been a member of the Greek national team. He joined Greece initially for the 2003 European Championship, one of two native Greeks on the squad alongside Panagiotis Cheilakis. A bench player, he walked once and scored twice and never had an official at-bat for the Silver Medal winners. The Marousi player was also with Greece for the 2005 European Championship, going 2 for 13 as a regular in the outfield. He was 1 for 4 with a triple, walk, run and two RBI in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers, going 0 for 1 in Greece's 5-0 win over Russia in the finale.

In the 2010 European Championship, the veteran infielder again played for Greece.
