Biographical Information[edit]

1B/OF Ho-joon Lee has topped 20 homers four times in the Korea Baseball Organization.

In 1996, he went 3 for 18 with a double, homer, 6 walks and 8 strikeouts while converting to hitting. In '97, Lee hit .278/~.321/.558 with 8 homers and 20 RBI in 126 AB. That earned him a regular role in 1998, when he batted .303/~.354/.507 with 19 homers and 77 RBI. He was 10th in the KBO in batting average. In 1999, Lee hit .276/~.333/.487 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI in 312 AB.

Lee moved to the SK Wyverns in 2000 and batted .232/~.291/.437 with 10 home runs in 190 AB. He hit .234/~.285/.413 in 2001. In 2002, he smacked 23 homers and batted .286/~.359/.507. He had a big year in '03 with 36 home runs, 86 runs and 102 RBI, hitting .290/~.383/.564. He was well back of the homer and RBI leader, Seung-yeop Lee (56, 144).

In 2004, Ho-jun batted .280/~.372/.513 with 30 homers and 112 RBI. He led the circuit in runs batted in and was just 4 homers behind leader Kyung-wan Park. In 2005, he fell a bit, with a .271/~.369/.500 line and 21 homers. He missed the entire 2006 campaign.

Lee returned to the field in 2007 and had the best average of his career to that point, batting .313/~.365/.501 with 71 RBI in 351 AB. He tied Taek-keun Lee for 8th in the league in average. He helped SK win the 2007 Korean Series.

The Wyverns set a new KBO record for wins in 2008 but Lee only had 25 at-bats, getting 5 hits (2 doubles), a walk and 8 strikeouts. By 2009, though, he was back in the cleanup spot for the club.
