Gulf of Mexico

From BR Bullpen

The Gulf of Mexico is a body of water located west of Florida, south of the states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi, east of Mexico, and north of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and of Cuba. It connects with the Caribbean Sea, to the south, through a straight between Yucatan and the western tip of Cuba.

Contrary to the Caribbean Sea, there are almost no islands in the Gulf of Mexico. Its surrounding lands are all places where a lot of baseball is played. The Gulf Coast League derives its name from the Gulf of Mexico.

Roy Halladay died here when his plane crashed into the sea, 10 miles west of St. Petersburg, FL.
