Golden Spikes Award

The Golden Spikes Award is an award given annually, since 1978, to the best amateur baseball player in the USA. The award is sponsored by the United States Baseball Federation and the Major League Baseball Players Association. Almost every winner, excepting recent winners still in the minors, have made the major leagues and many have had good, long productive careers.
