- Died June 12, 1884 in New York, NY USA
Biographical Information[edit]
Frank Pidgeon was a pitcher for the Brooklyn Eckfords from 1855 to 1862. He was also the first president of the Eckfords. He was very vocal about how he wanted baseball to stay as a game for fun and not be something people should get paid to play. He lived in California during the Gold Rush in 1849 for a brief time. He died in 1884 after being run over by a train. According to some witnesses, Pidgeon did not make any effort to move away from the train and was apparently depressed over his life falling apart.
