The two-dimensional work of art depicted in this image is in the public domain in the United States, either because it was first published before 1929, or for the reason described either above or below this template. This photograph of the work is also in the public domain in the United States (see Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corp.).
Note: Unless the creator died more than 70 years ago, the work of art is not public domain worldwide.

Public domain by age (first published in the 1930 Michiganensian at page 108). This work was originally published before 1964, and for the copyright to have been extended, there needed to have been a renewal filed sometime in the 28th year (i.e., 1958). Online searches of the U.S. Copyright Office's Copyright Records web site for "Michiganensian" and "Ensian" revealed no renewal entry for the 1930 Michiganensian. Similar searches of the Stanford University Copyright Renewal Database reveals no copyright renewals for any volume of "Michiganensian" or "Ensian" during the period from 1923-1963. Accordingly, it appears the copyright was not renewed and therefore the work is in the public domain according to either criteria.
