Evgeny Vorotyntsev has represented Russia at both the junior and senior levels of international competition.
Biographical Information[edit]
In the 2007 European Junior Championship, he beat Belgium with six walks and four earned runs in 6 2/3 IP. At the plate in the tourney, he was 6 for 16 with a walk, double and triple for the Silver Medalists. In the 2008 World Junior Championship, he took losses to Mexico and Italy (15 H, 13 R in 5 2/3 IP). He also pitched for the senior Russian national team in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers. Getting the start against Ireland, he fanned eight in seven innings and allowed four hits, one walk and one run but got a no-decision in a game won by Russia. His 8 K for the event were double Russia's next-best hurler, Rinat Makhmoutov. He was the youngest pitcher on the Russian staff.
In the 2011 European Cup, the right-hander gave up ten runs and eight walks in 6 2/3 IP for the North Stars Moscow. He took the loss against the host Amsterdam Pirates.
