Ebris Martínez has pitched in Cuba for several years. In 2007-2008, he was 4-3 with a save and a 4.66 ERA in 29 games for the Industriales. Through that season, his third, he had a career record of 15-16 with four saves and a 5.37 ERA in 80 games.

The right-hander went 3-1 with a 4.99 ERA in 30 games in 2008-2009 then was 4-2 with 3 saves and a 4.55 ERA in 28 outings in 2009-2010. He led the league with 13 intentional walks among his 35 walks.
