Biographical Information

David Neft was the driving force behind the first Baseball Encyclopedia, published by Macmillan in 1969. He was a pioneer in using computers to compile statistics and to typeset the massive book's pages. He later became the co-author of The Sports Encyclopedia:Baseball with Richard M. Cohen and also branched out into publications on basketball and football.

In 2010, he was among the first class of recipients of the Henry Chadwick Award.
