Biographical Information[edit]

Cy Neighbors led the Western League in 1910 with 206 hits. His batting average was .333 on a team that won 108 games. He stole 34 bases but the team had six players that stole at least 30.

He had played for the Toledo Mud Hens in 1905, and in 1907 he played for Burlington, leading the Iowa State League in hits and runs scored.

His one appearance with the 1908 Pittsburgh Pirates was in left field, which was player-manager Fred Clarke's position.

"Cy Neighbors, the hard-hitting outfielder, who has been with Kansas City for more than a year, was sold to the Mobile Club, of the Southern League, and immediately afterwards Manager Collins, of the Minneapolis team, wired to Mobile, offering to buy Neighbors for the Millers." - Sporting Life, reporting on demand for Neighbors, June 5, 1909
