Biographical Information[edit]

Chuck Murphy was a longtime president of the Florida State League.

A New York native, Murphy attended Michigan State University and then spent 21 years in the Army, serving in Vietnam. Following his time in the military, he went to work for the Evansville Triplets, eventually becoming the team's General Manager. He then spent time as GM of the Daytona Beach Islanders before becoming FSL President in 1990. He served in that capacity until his death in 2015.

Murphy and his wife Emo Murphy helped establish the Florida State League Hall of Fame, and they both were inducted in 2011.
