Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Roque pitched in the minors for three years.

The Chicago White Sox took him in the 40th round of the 2001 amateur draft out of high school. Proceeding to junior college, the Anaheim Angels chose him in the 33rd round of the 2002 amateur draft.

He was 0-3 with a 6.66 ERA and 2.01 WHIP for the 2003 AZL Angels. In 2004, he was 0-5 with 3 saves and a 3.15 ERA for the same team, though his WHIP was still on the higher side (1.70). He tied Oscar Montes and Lennyn Morillo for third in the Arizona League in losses. Let go by the Angels, he signed with the independent Elmira Pioneers, going 1-4 with a 6.23 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 30 games in 2005. He thus finished his pro playing career 1-12 with 3 saves, a 5.67 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 67 outings.
