Centrales (Serie Nacional)

(Redirected from Centrales)

The Centrales joined the Cuban Serie Nacional as an expansion team in 1965-1966, finishing last at 23-40. One bright spot was back-to-back no-hitters by Aquino Abreu. They improved to 4th at 33-32 in 1966-1967 with key players such as stolen base leader Félix Isasi, home run leader Erwin Walters and national team pitcher Gaspar Pérez. That was their last season; when the league expanded and reorganized, they disappeared.
